1) How to know if this sink drain strainer (stopper) fits into my bathroom sink?
Please measure the diameter of your bathroom sink’s drain hole. If the diameter is greater than 1.063" (27mm) and smaller than 1.614" (41mm) in diameter, then this strainer is compatible to your sink. If the your bathroom sink’s drain hole diameter is between 1.063” (27mm) to 1.299” (33mm) use the smaller silicon gasket provided; if the diameter is between 1.3” (33mm) to 1.614” (41mm) use the larger silicon gasket provided.
To determine which gasket is suitable for your sink drain hole without measuring the drain hole diameter, please check the "ACT0004B Customer Review" video from 1.1 minutes to the end. It is important that this stopper/strainer is installed correctly in the sink with the correct gasket to make sure all the water drains out and also there is no leakage.
2) Does the water drain slowly due to the anti-odor filter basket at the bottom?
Yes, because of the anti-odor filter basket at the bottom, water drains relatively slower (than without it). But if water drain speed is critical for you, you can also use this as a conventional pop-up stopper by taking out the plastic bucket (Please refer to the "ACT0004B Product Demonstration" video). Plastic bottom is removable and can be reattached again if needed. If you are using it with the plastic bucket, it is important to clean the basket regularly for the trapped/collected items.
3) How to clean the collected hairs and other items in the strainer’s bucket?
Take out the strainer from the sink. Remove the small plastic bucket (this is removable) and clean the bucket. Affix the bucket back to the strainer and install the strainer/stopper back into the sink’s drain hole.
It is IMPORTANT that you clean the plastic bucket regularly for the accumulated hairs and other stuff so all the water drains out smoothly from the sink.
If you feel water drains slower than you are used to, you can also use this stopper/strainer without the bottom plastic bucket, which will increase the drain speed.

I had the traditional stopper in my apartment bathroom sink, with a pop up lever. The pop up lever kept breaking, so I was always manually pushing and pulling the stopper in my sink. I saw this stopper and decided to give it a try. I used the larger silicon ring to ensure a snug fit (I didn’t measure anything, I just tried the 2 rings on to see which one fit better) and that was it! It works! I just press down if I need to fill the sink with water and press again to release the water so it drains. I love the drain catcher under this stopper as it will prevent any small items from slipping thru the sink and down the drain. Just remember to clean it out weekly!
The only hard part about installing this was removing the blue film – lol. Other than that, this works perfectly

Our bathroom sink was missing the lever to raise and lower the stopper. Therefore it was a bit of a balancing act to get it so it wouldn’t slide shut when water hit it. Looking for an easy fix (crawling around underneath replacing the mechanism was not my idea of fun), I came across this and gave it a try.
So far so good. Installation consisted of taking out the old stopper and dropping this in. It seems to seal properly, I pushed down the stopper, filled the sink, and waited. If it did leak, it wasn’t immediately noticeable. I pressed it again, it popped up and the water drained. Not a fast drain, but fast enough. I’m pleased with this, time will tell.
