1) Do Natural Latex Pillow Smell? Why?
Natural latex is extracted from sap of tree. Like many natural products, they have a slight aroma which is pleasant to some and not so much for others. Part of the smell of the latex pillow also comes during manufacturing process. First, natural latex sap is whipped into froth and poured into a pillow mold. The foam is baked in an oven, turning it into latex foam. This process involves vulcanization, which cooks some of the proteins in the sap and produces a mild temporary smell.
2) Is the Smell of Natural Latex Harmful?
Natural latex does not have same chemical smell as poly-foam and memory forms do. The temporary odor given off by natural latex contains No VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and therefore is not harmful to health or environment.
3) How long does it take the Smell to go away?
Generally, it can take up to 1~2 months for the new smell of natural latex to go way. This is because they are made with natural ingredients that take time to neutralize. This process can be sped up by allowing pillow to breathe. To minimize the smell, after the production, ACTIER foam pillows are left in open for 7 days to air out before covering them with pillow cases and packaging into the boxes.
4) What can be done to reduce the smell of Natural Latex?
Allow the Pillow to Breathe. Airing out a new Pillow naturally without pillow cases reduces the smell. If you are sensible to the natural latex smell, once you receive the Pillow, it is recommended that you let it air out without the pillow case at least for 2 days. This will also allow the pillow to regain the original shape/size from the compressed packing. It is also recommended that you wash the cotton pillow case at least once a week and use your own pillowcover on top of the cotton pillow case.

Well this may be the best pillow I’ve had in years, definitely happy so far! The odor was light but dissipated in about 2 days, very happy that it’s latex and not a petroleum product (like memory foam!), the price is due to the high quality materials I’m sure.
This is just the right height for me as I sleep on my side and/or back, switch during the night, can’t stay comfy normally. This also has the PERFECT amount of give and softness!! It’s not mushy soft like memory foam, doesn’t shift around unlike synthetic fluff-type pillows, supports in a cushiony yet “buoyant” way, I totally agree with their description! I love that I don’t have to plump it up over and over or punch it down etc.
So far am sleeping well, maybe better than in awhile, can’t say enough about this pillow! 🙂

I was expecting a pill that was bit more firm. These one is not as firm but flexible. The foam is soft. If you are some one whom likes a thick pillow this isn’t the one for you. I fold mine in half to achieve the quality i was looking for, this isnt resolve ths issue as the pillow is still to flat
I would recoemmend but only for some folks who repfer softer pillows. The cooling senation is present but you can barely tell it does good at that part. I didn’t gave it 5 stars because the product is good just not for everyone. Also the presention during arrival was impressive

Hotel pillows are AWFUL so I wanted something I could pack with me to use. This is perfect. It’s low profile but I can put it on top of a hotel pillow to get the height I’d like, and it’s very comfortable! I don’t think it’s designed to fit back in the carrying bag because it is very difficult to get it back in, but even without the bag it’s low profile and lightweight so it fits in a suitcase just fine!
